Emily’s List endorsed in quite a few of today’s primaries. Theyre doing ok tonight in MI. Their candidate won in the gov race, and 8th and 10th districts. Their candidate lost in the 7th and she’s already off the website. Idk why but that makes me chuckle.

Very good @brianbeutler.bsky.social look at the folly of imaging that Dems can win young men over the long haul "with a dozen more Rogan appearances and a ten percent increase in bearded senators." Instead try "demonstrating an interest in their fellowship." www.offmessage.net/p/maga-donal...

MAGA Squandered Young Men's Trust; Making Them Stay Democrats Is The Hard Part

The right discredited itself. The left can't win them back with beards and podcast appearances alone.

I don't know if it was Ohio Rep Max Miller's defiant speech just now calling his ex a crazy liar, or the pressure of the press demanding that he address his daughter's allegation against his MAGA colleague, but Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) has finally put out a statement saying Miller must go.

As a father and husband, I can tell you the last two years have been pure hell for my wife Bridget, our daughter Emily, me, and our entire family in the aftermath of Emily's divorce.
It has been horrific to watch this play out in full public view, all while knowing an innocent two-year-old girl is caught in the middle. Our priority has always been protecting our daughter and our granddaughter. Out of concern for the safety of my family, I hoped to keep this matter private but Max Miller's increasingly erratic and dangerous behavior has made that impossible.
As he has admitted privately, Max Miller needs serious psychological help. He is a danger to my daughter, and I hold my breath every minute he has custody of my granddaughter. As he has admitted privately, Max Miller needs serious psychological help. He is a danger to my daughter, and I hold my breath every minute he has custody of my granddaughter.
If there are any basic standards of character required to hold elected office, Max Miller fails them. He should not serve in the House of Representatives. I believe Max Miller needs to seek professional help to end the clear pattern of abuse he has left in his wake. I believe he should not be free to continue endangering others until he does.
I ran for office because I wanted to make a difference for the country that gave me every opportunity to succeed, and to leave this nation better for my children and grandchildren. That sacrifice has been especially hard on my wife Bridget, whose big heart and steady support have never wavered. I owe it to her, to Emily, and to my granddaughter to speak the truth now.

New primary data @fiftyplusone.news confirms a pattern political scientists have flagged for years: Women with endorsements are winning primaries at high rates in both parties, but the opportunity structure around them is wildly unequal🧵 (full story here open.substack.com/pub/fiftyplu...)

We tracked every candidate in the 2026 primaries. Here's who voters are nominating.

Our original dataset tracks endorsements across every congressional and gubernatorial race to reveal how party leaders and ideological groups are faring.

"Todd Blanche’s nomination to be President Donald Trump’s permanent attorney general is on hold. And it could stay that way until September — or potentially even longer." "GOP senators are making it clear they have real problems. And those problems only start with Cornyn and Tillis."

The GOP revolt over Todd Blanche is suddenly very real

Republican Sens. John Cornyn and Thom Tillis have effectively stalled Blanche’s nomination, and could prevent his confirmation until September — if he gets confirmed at all.

Latest news re: ongoing cuts to BuzzFeed / HuffPo mostly just makes me realize those hundreds of pieces I wrote over six years (that are already riddled with weird ads and lost images) are probably going to disappear sooner rather than later

I have not been doing a good enough job posting these but here is a thread of independent bookstores you can give your money for a signed copy of A SECOND SIGHT: Up first, Brookline Booksmith, MA

copies of A SECOND SIGHT with stickers that read “autographed copy” near a book display of versions of THE ODYSSEY inside a bookstore

Having an early primary in a state won't necessarily help Dems there in the general election. (See SC and Iowa in past cycles.) The winners of early primaries often don't win the nomination. This calendar debate seems like much ado about little. newrepublic.com/article/2134...

Why Democrats Should Stop Obsessing About the 2028 Primary Calendar

The winners of the first primaries often don’t win the nomination. And having an early primary in a state doesn’t help in the general election.

Engaging in the peer review process—from any position within it—would quickly disabuse anyone of the notion that the academy is full of groupthink. You can’t get even a small group of experts to agree on what is important or appropriate. Half the time they don’t even agree on what *is*.

such a good, sad window. these side quest conspiracies are just desperate attempts to protect an alternate reality they've been fed algorithmically. the utter popularity of this film is evidence that they live in a bubble of insanity. so they recruit new "evidence" so as not to confront that truth

Sal Gentile@salgentile.bsky.social · 2w ago

the odyssey discourse is a beautiful perfect window into right wing culture war psychosis. they went from hysterial racist mania over a character that’s on screen for 5 minutes to claiming there’s a massive conspiracy to fake ticket sales. this is just what they do for everything now. they’re insane

BREAKING: The Odyssey is FAKING ticket sales by buying up theaters/seats (Fraud) to make the movie look like a success (already $400 million in the hole) moviegoers are reporting having to take terrible seats (because full) but when they show up the theaters are mostly empty.
