Trying out a thing I’ve wanted to do for a while. I worked as a sound engineer before I blew out my ears, but haven’t really messed with audio stuff in ~20y… I decided to revisit it in a fun way.

Two modest audio field recorders, side by side. One is a TASCAM X8 and the other is a TASCAM X6.

I want to quote/reply @jcsalterego.bsky.social repost about pants, but I can’t.. So I’ll post it here without additional context, which works out because I now have an excuse for nobody laughing: “Hi, yeah, I’d like 36 pairs. Can I split those 50:50? Okay, I’ll take 12 boneless and 24 traditional.”

“The Girls” The big girl got a bath and new tires. The little lady rolled up yesterday. (I love that bike so much, I got my wife the exact same one.) I’m trying my fucking best to process this situation in a healthy manner. My wife and I are going to be hitting the trails a lot, this summer…

Two Specialized Turbo Levo 4 S-Works in a dark green paint job, with golden Fox Factory suspension, next to a KTM 890 Adventure R, in some dickhead’s living room for some fucking reason.

Can’t sleep. In 13 hours, I’ll be saying goodbye to my little girl. We believe she’s 13. We rescued her 8 years ago. She was previously a guard dog for a meth dealer. She was considered unadoptable. A permanent resident of a sanctuary that rescues euth-list dogs with difficult histories.

Just a reminder: Everything is okay. Totally normal for the world to be in fascist decline, everything on fire, while also being under water, while getting hit by tornadoes during an oddly severe hurricane season in a territory that has never gotten hurricanes before, all during this record drought.

Ugggh. Wednesday, 10hr OT. Thursday, 9hr OT. Friday, 13hr OT. Saturday, 9hr on day off. Monday, 6hr OT….. like, I know I almost died and took a very-brief vacation, but can we fucking NOT?!

It seems obvious that Trump started this war in Iran to make Venezuelan oil more appealing to the oil tycoons that recently gave him a Hard No on setting up operations in the country.

The U.S. government on Wednesday shut down a vital resource for keeping tabs on what powerful spying tools its agencies are buying, making it harder to reliably find out how agencies including ICE are spending taxpayers’ dollars. www.404media.co/the-governm...

The Government Just Made it Harder to See What Spy Tech it Buys

On Wednesday, the government stopped supporting FPDS.gov, an indispensable resource for finding what ICE, the FBI, and every other agency is buying. Its replacement site completely sucks.
