The most disrespected man in America

Proposed deal: Large market teams have to share more revenue of their TV deals. In exchange we stop federally funding ungrateful rural areas and put that money back into America's crown jewel, our cities

It is not a perfect 1:1 but the Yankees increasingly feel like the baseball Dallas Cowboys: usually relevant in the regular season but for a variety of reasons always punch themselves in the dick & flame out in the playoffs. For most that were alive they largely coast on glory from the 70s & 90s

Glass half empty: AES had to be that good looking, that incredible a communicator, that charismatic, that prepared to squeak by a machine of money and bigotry Glass half full: He won brrrrrrrrr

Have been thinking off and on about how the Kyler Murray situation was one of the hallmarks of baseball shooting itself in the foot. Minors contracted, money isn't as good anymore, high price to get in, now you have a guy openly disproving the old "go to baseball to get paid" dictum

I am sometimes baffled by Gen Z and younger's nostalgia for the TV shows of their youth, which have largely been easily accessible their entire lives. There was no period between 5 and 25 where they had to wait and discover, oh wow that shit was trash

It’s hard to explain but tv was better when you couldn’t watch the show you wanted whenever you wanted to watch it and most of the shows were worse and the TVs were worse and the entire experience was worse, that’s when it was better
