The worked flints I picked up in 1988 from the debris created by the building of the Indian Mound Mall in Heath Ohio are now on their way back to join their peers at the Newark Earthworks Center and Museum in Newark #Ohio. Lovely pale flint with patches of color from the remarkable Flint Ridge.
My kids had nightmares after they made dolls out of spuds - putting clothes on them and everything – then forgot about them and discovered them in a drawer a few weeks later when they had sprouted all sorts of Lovecraftian appendages.

Found this beautiful hand-thrown stoneware teapot with an ash glaze and probably fired in a wood kiln. There's a small maker’s mark cut into the base of the handle. If anyone has an idea of how to learn about it, please get in touch! The maker seems to have been very accomplished. #pottery

@jg-pgh.bsky.social Heron update: it came back and decided to hang out on my compost heap. I called the wildlife rehab person again. She came and caught it, amazingly easily, and drove off with it. The heron will get the best possible treatment. What a good outcome! \o/

The flood watch seemed plausible when they were forecasting almost 2 inches of rain?? Less so when it went down to 1. Then .75 and they kept the flood watch up but now the forecast is less than half an inch and we’re rolling our eyes. #weather
