Proud Mom of 2 adult LGTBQ humans & 1 were-cat COVID is never going to be over. Climate change may be the death of all. Biology/Botany/Geology and weirdly enough, Accounting? My youngest thinks I'm a reptilian overlord & we're both artists.
Update: The creep gave me a black eye along with bruising at my temple and scalp. My eye is still discolored 8 days later.
Alright, I'm feeling like I can actually talk on here. Been dealing with a creep irl and figured out his probable accts on bsky to block him. As if my mom having a stroke, my dad go off the deep end of dementia, & being starved for 13 days wasn't enough but had to have some creepy ass mofo, too.
Is the Mad Wannabe King going to open the dams in California to "put out wildfires" that are factually over mountains and hundreds of miles away again (this time, probably thousands)?
Has he left for Cali yet to turn the faucet on? 🤡
Someone made a Lindsey Graham in Hell platformer. mann.cool/hell/

A fast, surprising platformer.

Based on the number of bizarre road incidents that I've witnessed in the last few days, I daresay that COVID cases are rising in the local PDX metro area. Just as a reminder, active COVID infection can impair one's ability to drive, attentiveness, and impulsivity creating a higher risk of accident.
I read of thousands of needless deaths and am full of rage that Mark Carney is walking back Canada's emissions targets.
“Europe recorded 10,000 excess deaths during late-June heat wave, data shows Extreme heat can kill by causing heat stroke, or aggravating cardiovascular, respiratory diseases… The vast majority — more than 9,000 — were among people aged 65 and above, according to data published by EuroMOMO.”
I vote for Freedom Shits and Turd Immunity.
Several names for the cyclosporiasis outbreak for your consideration: - The Trump Squirts - The Freedom Shits - A Musk Burst - SpaceX Explosion - A Tesla Blowout - The inevitable consequence of putting crank Robert Kennedy Jr. in charge of public health (there’s no joke here, just facts)
Since I want to skip out on explosive diarrhea, I've been making jarred concoctions of thoroughly cleaned and cooked produce. It'll never cease to amaze me how a massive bag of spinach can blanch down to about a cup in size.
I should've signed onto bsky before I spent an hour or so cleaning/scrubbing produce, blanching or stir frying it, and sticking it in sealed containers for the next few days when I could've just bought a pint of B&J.
As an epidemiologist, I declare this to be an excellent substitute for fruits and vegetables during the cyclosporiasis epidemic.
Any journalist writing articles about a "fertility crisis" that isn't mentioning these causes as a reason for said fertility crisis is either an idiot or someone who didn't do their due diligence in asking the generations that are of child bearing age. I've asked & what they say? 👇
“The Fertility Crisis.” Pure right-wing framing by NYT here. Maybe people aren’t having kids because they can’t afford to and/or they’re afraid of the world they’d be bringing them into. You know, bc of real crises like wealth inequality, climate change, and the capture of govt by the wealthy.
A report on the ground from the ICE shooting in Biddeford that should make every parent in this country lose their minds:
This is total insanity. Words fail to explain how anyone let alone a plurality of voters thought giving an obviously demented person control of the most powerful government in the world was a good idea. We will be lucky to come out the other side of this alive.
2- This is a map of religious predators that I created from data I could easily find for the PAST WEEK.
World feels weird knowing that Graham is no longer here to be absolutely Graham unlike Schodinger's Senator McConnell.
Here's the latest variant picture with a global scope, to late June. NB.1.8.1 "Nimbus" was roughly flat at 50%. JN.1.* + FLiRT (led by RF.5.*) grew to take over second spot from XFG.* "Stratus" at 18%. 🧵
They’ve said this about nearly everyone they’ve shot in a moving car, and they’ve lied nearly every time.

It's ironic that the president who doesn't believe that climate change is real is having all of his stuff impacted by extreme heat.
🚨DC Independence Day Parade CANCELED due to extreme heat
This is exceptional work.
I've spent the last two months putting together this exhaustive analysis of the New York Times coverage of trans people. It covers 3,242 articles over 12 years. In 2022, the NYT shifted towards a hostile stance towards trans people in their framing. www.thedissident.news/exclusive-ho...
First World Cup wastewater metagenomics had nothing out of the ordinary. Parainfluenzavirus 3 and a couple enteric viruses are high (typical for early summer). The most exotic virus we saw was a Largemouth Bass Bunyavirus. Waiting 'patiently' for data from the second plate.
I truly hope this is as effective as indicated. This could really help us reach the end of the acute phase of the pandemic. Sadly, the damage that has already been done will take decades to clear.

Meet Crumb, Button, and Clover. A friend in the Bay Area found them behind a gas station. Unfortunately, she isn't able to keep them, so if she can't find someone to adopt them, they will be going to a shelter. Can you help me find them a home? They are in good health and very tame.
