Reading the Commons debate on the puberty blockers trial is so depressing. MP after MP standing up to basically assert "I don't believe trans people are real, and this is all that matters."

Not a single mention of the lying that got Starmer the leadership and simply didn't stop afterwards, or the obsessive factionalism that drove it. He had nothing else because that was the sole point of him but people like Freedland think that was good in and of itself.

In today's Pride debate in the Commons, @mimsdavies.bsky.social says that she wears the rainbow flag to show "respect and support for gay people" but attacks the progress pride flag as "a symbol of identity politics", underlining that TERFs are spectacularly stupid.

It's always cool how liberals eagerly rush in to help authoritarianism along as long as they don't like the people on the receiving end.

The responses of @seemamalhotra-mp.bsky.social in the EHRC debate are incredible. Whenever it's asked how it's going to work in practice, she keeps referring to the EHRC providing "examples" and saying that e.g challenging someone to prove their sex must be done "sensitively".
