Sherlock loves crinkle paper. My living room is perpetually littered with it in various degrees.

What is a cat if not God's desire for revenge incarnate?
My birthday is on Wednesday. Every year the VOKRA (Kitten rescue that I adopted Sherlock from) has a charity event around a similar time, so I ask that if you want to celebrate my day, donate to VOKRA if you're in Vancouver, or, your local animal rescue/shelter.
I know my birthday is getting close because I wonder why I even exist. Hello seasonal depression, I'll feed you cinnamon coffee in the morning.
I remember when having $52 left after rent cleared could still cover the most basic groceries until next payday. I can still do something fun on my birthday with no money. If it's a nice day I'll go for a bike trip I think.
I've been sweater ready since last autumn.

Today I went for a 3 hour hike, and August is one of my favourite times for that in the PNW. All the plants getting sun beaming down made the smell of wild berries, and pine, extra delicious. Throw in undertones of cedar and pepper, there ya go! PNW Summer as a fragrance.

How is a middle aged, punk, forest-lurking, cryptid supposed to find romance in a redneck island town like this??
he has accumulated precisely one basket. he is actively using that basket. he does not maintain a portfolio of twelve baskets that sit vacant while other cats sleep on the floor or outside. that's because there are no cat landlords. for each cat, a basket, and for each basket, a cat.

Almost home, just stopping for fish n chips. I can't wait to see Sherlock again, I missed him so much.
Day 2 of vacation involved the RBC Museum with an Egyptian exhibit. Got to see for realsies coffins, and canopic jars, n stuff. Most of the info there I already knew, but it was so cool to SEE it instead of just reading.
