This is kind of the major issue: I think that the focused critique of EDM culture generally has some teeth, but it often veers into this sort of generalizing that, crucially, is undeveloped shorthand. Another case where an awake editor would have been helpful!
I think this piece is making a more nuanced anti-imperialist critique of global rave culture than the one presented in Current Affairs' screencaps, but it still suffers from the common affliction of cultural criticism: treating material phenomena as a fundamentally literary text
