A garden is being built to remember the 37 people who died when Jaywick was flooded in 1953. Going to be lovely. Luckily, we now have much better defenses. The flood wasn't climate change related, but the next ones WILL be. Yet, vulnerable coastal communities vote science-denying clueless Reform 🤦🏻‍♀️

I like to think the boxing machines are a tribute to the pier owners' great great grandfather, top 1880s middleweight boxer Alf Ball. In my book! 🥊

Also, I keep laughing at the 'citation needed' from my editor on an academic chapter for another book, in reference to a comment I made about WWF lady wrestler Chyna's fuschia and purple Wrestlemania 17 ring gear. The citation is, I'm sorry, MY TEENAGE GIRL MIND 🥹

One week until the book manuscript draft two is due. The heatwave, bronchitis, toddler being a maniac, day job, CLACTON BY-ELECTION combination has been brutal. I hate everything.
