Selfishly I have a sort of ‘fine, do it bro’ attitude about this because, frankly, I could sustain myself for decades just playing games in my backlog, many of which I still own physically. If I never buy a new AAA game in my life, it’s convenient, if anything. Just give me the excuse, chief.

Same phenomenon. If Power is doing something virtually all smart people find indefensible, but the media needs somebody to defend it for Ideological Diversity, there’s a huge opportunity for mediocrities with no integrity to score positions they’d never otherwise be considered for.

This is the difference between a winner and a loser. “Yeah you wanna try? Go ahead and fucking try. I’m gonna kick your ass anyways, and if I lose, I’m coming back twice as hard. If you’re on my team, we’re gonna smoke em.” vs. “WAAAH WAAAAH WAAAAAH” <fifth place benchwarmer diarrhea noises>

Golden State Valkyries forward Gabby Williams: “There’s a lot of discourse around trans athletes and what they can compete in. I would welcome a trans athlete on my team or against my team. Anytime. I don’t think it’s a problem in the world, it’s just another way to kind of attack trans people.”

I haven't read the reviews, so my unbiased opinion of Supergirl is that it is mostly good, even though the last third of the movie dragged a bit, and that god awful "The Middle" cover almost sank the whole movie for me.

Though we have failed to rectify the material consequences of bigotry, the campaign to demonize bigotry itself has been a cultural success. It is the one charge so powerful that racists cry about reverse racism, and war criminals claim to be victims of hate speech for being called war criminals.

You can laugh at SpaceX crashing but do you think about all the other people wondering why you're laughing and how you have to stop and tell them so they can also join you in laughing too

This is funny but, Back In My Day in Austin, the staff moved discreetly in silence - they were basically ninjas. The food rocked, and I regularly got zooted on buckets of Lone Star. RIP Drafthouse, another awesome thing ruined by selling out.

we at alamo drafthouse consider this to be a movie sanctuary, so turn off your damn phones! also every seat has a little light exactly as bright as a phone so you can read our menu, and a guy will be walking around the whole movie trying to figure out who ordered the shishito peppers
