Just two of the 19 spans of the magnificent Pontcysyllte Aqueduct in the Vale of Llangollen, Wales. This grand structure carries the Llangollen Canal from one side of the valley to the other, over the River Dee. 307m long, it reaches 39m above the valley floor. #AlphabetChallenge #WeekGForGrand

Have returned home from the cinema to discover that the air in my garden no longer feels like I'm trying to breathe inside someone else's left lung and is, in fact, refreshingly cool and pleasant.
EVERY STORY ABOUT BEAVERS FOR THE LAST DECADE READS LIKE: WE RELEASED A DOZEN PADDLE TAILED LITTLE FREAKS AND THEY IMMEDIATELY BEGAN A TERRAFORMING PROJECT THAT REVERSED A CENTURY OF ECOLOGICAL DAMAGE IN THREE WEEKS.
Might post some good environment news every so often to showcase that it's not over yet and there are good things happening, we just have to fight for it First: beavers are basically magical creatures that help with drought and flooding, and we're reintroducing them more and more
The right-wing press straight-up murdered this man. Arrest and charge the bastards. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Jason Arday: Former Cambridge university professor found dead
His family said it was "in shock to have lost this amazing father, partner, brother, uncle and son" after the academic was found dead in London on Friday.

I mean, at least we're not far enough gone that UK Govt just leave us proles to burn; that's Reform policy.
Severe Alert issued by the UK Government: "We're gonna extract every last fucking drop of fossil fuel from the North Sea AND get rich doing it, so suck on that and don't have a barbecue, fuck you, plebs"
Campaign to Build HS3 Right Over Dobby's Grave
But we're taking firm and decisive action on climate change by ... (checks notes) ... banning disposable BBQs and drilling for oil in the North Sea. This is fine. I suppose.
Temperatures have now exceeded 35°C in the UK today 🌡️ This now provisionally the 10th day in 2026 where temperatures have reached or exceeded 35°C or more
With a ban on disposable BBQs afoot, am I alone in thinking that the usual idiots will take this as a mandate to - just fly-tip a cheap BBQ anyway or - dump the lit coals when they pack up or - just light a fire instead
Just discovered I've been wearing my T-shirt back-to-front all morning.
At one point today the air was 5 degrees warmer than I like my shower, 7 degrees warmer than I run my washing machine and generally just too warm and stale and it tasted pre-breathed.
Our cobbled-together-at-the-last-minute eclipse observatory; colander for aperture, chopping board as a screen. It worked really well! Sunshine (2007) #AlphabetChallenge #WeekFforFilms

The album as a whole is a masterclass in dark, moody, almost implausibly dynamic grooves. So, SO good.

Swallow Falls, Betws-y-coed, Eryri, Wales 🏴 A precise configuration of water molecules that existed only for the time it took to capture the image. Never before, never to be repeated. #WeekEforEphemeral #AlphabetChallenge
Blancmange doing objectively the BEST ABBA SONG. 5 stars, no notes, proper treat #totp
Pepys here, letting some poor sod set sail in a shitty boat so that there's a chance he can ... (checks notes)... bang his widow when he inevitably sinks/gets stranded/drowns. This fucking guy, man...
Young Bagwell and his wife waylayd me to desire my favour about getting him a better ship, which I shall pretend to be willing to do for them, but my mind is to know his wife a little better.
Spent an upsetting amount of money in one outdoors retailer's shop in Betws-y-coed last week, having heard from A Reliable Source that Rohan shirts are a) excellent and b) nigh-on indestructible. Expensive, even at sale prices, but I have high hopes. The chap in the Rohan store was super helpful.
Some excellent stiles from a walk along the Afon Llugwy near Betws-y-coed the other day.
