No, autism is NOT overdiagnosed. It is *under diagnosed*, especially in autistics who aren't white boys from financially stable families. Anyone who claims we are overdiagnosing autism is either misinformed, or cruel, or both. #autism #neurodiversity

Request for help from the autistic community! 💜♾️ I'm writing a book about autistic people's relationships with food & drink, and I want to include more personal examples/stories than just my own If anyone is interested in contributing, this survey link has more info: www.surveymonkey.com/r/PGCYTJP
I’ve been listening to the audiobook of Stolen Focus, and it’s become a hate-listen. It started out as relatively harmless self indulgent interviews with cognitive and behavioural scientists, but by the time he gets around to ADHD it’s a terrifying misunderstanding of basic scientific concepts.
"And unlike other non-living things, AI systems can form relationships with humans." Unlike other non-living things, AI systems are designed by coprorate interests to deceive people and make them feel that the relationships they formed are actually reciprocated. (There, fixed it for you.) >>
"I had not touched a cat in 15 yrs when an orange kitten wandered over to sit w/me in the grass one day. I was left without adequate words to describe that experience. It reminded me that I am alive. It instilled in me a raw, unbridled happiness that I had never felt before, not even as a child."

A woodcarver named Becky W (vortenjou.bsky.social, rosehip.wordpress.com) made a sculpture of my nuthatch comic, showing a white-breasted nuthatch sitting on real nuts and hatching one of them. I'm so happy

Before and after, 7 days apart. Rescued by a keen-eyed driver, this car-hit Australian Boobook was soon given an assessment, meds and time to rest before release. Want to donate to Mosswood Wildlife? mosswoodwildlife.org.au/donate Source: fb.com/147448698471... #owlsintowels 💛🦉

Can you help me by completing a survey for a study on AI and charity content? It covers AI tool use, organisational support, and how you feel about AI. It's open to anyone who produces content as part of their role. You don't have to work for a charity. It takes 5–15 minutes tally.so/r/pbZqQP

It’s wild, I’ve had to join X and Threads to try and promote my survey more, and a) yes, X is still pretty gross and toxic, but b) I’m weirdly trying hard to only be my “professional persona” over there. Then I come over here and I’m like, oh hai, I’m a weird lil nerd who likes cute birbs and games.

I was today years old when I learned that Donnie Wahlberg in fact did not die of a drug overdose after NKOTB broke up, and my mother lied to me when I was a child to scare me off drugs. I mean, it seems like he’s doing some extremely sketchy things instead, so I think I preferred her version?
I don't need a summary of what's available online, in biographies, or even in my own notes. I need to comb through and find the great details, decide what interests ME. No, it's not efficient. It's slow and painstaking. But I don't believe in efficiency as an ultimate good, especially in writing. /
My unused journalism degree 🤝 my current psychology research. But also, I prefer Zora Neale Hurston’s take: “Research is formalised curiosity. It is poking and prying with a purpose.”

Girri update from Dr Cilla Kinross— "Back from the field with good news. Girri is in the roost trees (about 300m beyond Girinyalanha and 400m from the tower)—right up high in the tree. She spread her wings and called when Gimbir arrived." #OrangeNSW #PeregrineFalcons
