Cartoonist behind ospiritsarise.com, a webcomic that answers the question: "What would happen if you tossed DOCTOR WHO, HAMMER HORROR, and THE MUPPET SHOW into a blender, then added 5% more jokes?" No bigots. No bullies. No AI.

WHO'S WHO OF DOCTOR WHO: Scaroth the Jagaroth. Last of the One-Eyed Pesto Spaghetti-Os. Divided into twelve pieces like a chicken nugget value meal and will do anything, even Renaissance art forgery, to be whole again. Into beautiful women, probably. Terrible pilot. Ascot mascot. #DoctorWho #TV

It's both awesome and sad that 90% of the responses to the recent "if you see a skeleton, post a skeleton" game on BlueSky are GIFs from ARMY OF DARKNESS. Awesome because that movie rules, but sad because there's an obvious dearth of bone battalions out there in the public consciousness.

Normalize self-contained stories again. Standalone comic issues, TV episodes, movies, etc. Not everything needs an arc or some grand design. Just let the Smurfs build a bodega or whatever. Lore is a chore, and it bore...s me to death.

why are there several emoji for blood (🩸🅰️🆎🅱️🅾️) yet no emoji accounting for excesses of the other three humors? for phlegm, nothing. for yellow bile, nada. and for black bile, zippo. an astonishing oversight

If Greta Gerwig's MAGICIAN'S NEPHEW is set in 1955, does that mean her LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE will be in the '90s? Or, perhaps, even contemporary? Are the Pevensie children going to be refugees from a more recent conflict? The mind races! This new NARNIA series might go VERY, VERY HARD.

The phrase "ethical use of AI" is nonsense. Like "ethical use of atomic weapons" or "ethical use of strangulation on the neighbor's cat." You don't have to keep stepping on the rake, people. You can go around it.

Without a doubt, the best adaptation of THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA is the BBC version from the late '80s. Filmed like DOCTOR WHO and starring Tom Baker. GASP! It's got every technique under the sun: puppets, creatures in rubber suits, hand-drawn animation, CSO, miniatures, actors chewing scenery...

DOCTOR WHO REWATCH: "The Sensorites." In which the titular aliens are supposedly identical... but all have different faces, bodies, voices, personalities, etc. Like, you can clock the villain from a mile away because of his lil' belly and distinctive rasp. Also, he's always entering rooms like this:

10-YEAR-OLD ME: "When I grow up, I'm gonna eat cake and ice cream for breakfast every day." 40-YEAR-OLD ME: "Ooh, I'm feeling decadent. Time to add some flaxseeds to my oatmeal."
