I think a reason the younger generations were so quick to memeify Charlie Kirk was that we were taught there was nothing we could do to prevent our entire class from being killed by a single gunman. Utterly desensitizing & made the outcry over 1 evil guy getting merc’d look ridiculous by comparison
Zoomer Antimillenarian@surcomplicated.bsky.social · 3d agoI think the aftermath of the Kirk shooting really proves just how desensitized ordinary Americans have gotten to low-intensity gun violence, which to be fair is in part his own damn fault. To the right-wing media, though, the fact one of their own could get cut down like this was a genuine trauma.

Zach Bussey 🍁@zachbussey.tos.gg · 5d agoTwitch and Amazon are apparently planning to use streams to train Generative AI. Multiple sources tell me it will be announced in the coming months, despite some internal friction against it. Creators may be able to opt out of some training data.
TBF this in infinitely better than that obit where they said 'this guy liked Mr. Squatch soap' or whatever
