You spend an hour in traffic jamming up the QED waiting in line for a parking spot you’re hoping to get but doesn’t exist, then, frustrated, aggressively drive around the neighbourhood desperately searching for *anywhere* to park and have to walk to the stadium anyway … and all of that for this. 🫠

Final result of today’s CFL game where the Ottawa Redblacks lost 34-13 to the Montreal Alouettes.Screen shot from a TSN Facebook post. The caption reads ‘As the Redblacks fall to 0-7, fans are dawning the paper bag.’ There is an image of a fan with a paper bag over their head.

Parking’s Back! Sure, a new Civic Hospital Campus is probably still decades away, but at least the loyal inconvenienced customers gagging for the meagre culinary offerings at Dows Lake Pavilion *finally* have a place to park again.

The New Civic Hospital parkade is now open to the public and is located directly across from Dows Lake - just steps away.

Entrance is on Prince of Wales drive, near Queen Elizabeth Driveway and Preston Street.

We know the past few years have been challenging due to limited parking, and we sincerely thank our loyal customers for sticking with us. We also look forward to welcoming back many familiar faces now that convenient parking has returned.

To anyone on a bus southbound heading towards or already in The Glebe, if your your stop isn’t far, get out and walk, it’ll honestly be faster. (Special shoutout to the dude in the Porsche who violently accelerated to advance a whole three feet - it’s getting spicy on Bank St)

Our current mayor sent a fundraising email (in the voice of John Baird) that says Jeff Leiper wants “to force you out of your car and onto a bicycle.” … Don’t threaten me with a good time?!?

Downtown folks, if you hear lots of loud bangs tonight (assuming the weather holds) it’s Les Grands Feux du Casino Lac-Leamy, not another unused stockpile of fireworks being randomly destroyed in the middle of the night. 🧨
