And my last gripe of the day: If you can ride a bike at motor vehicle speeds (30-40k/hr) and you INSIST on doing that on busy MUPs, could you AT LEAST ding a bell before you blast past people? On bike and on foot? And please, fuck off with the close passing and threading the needle. 🖕🏼🖕🏼

This is now what Spruce looks like. Complete bow down to the Construction Gods, and a significant change to a small neighbourhood street. All because of work being done behind this brick building. I guess the kids won't be playing basketball or soccer on their street anymore this Summer.
😭 I was shocked to find this beloved modal filter was removed today. Despite endless (endless!) consultation on most things (especially anything to make cycling safer) I didn't even get a notice that this (making streets less safe) was going to happen. @arieltroster.com I've emailed your office.
People really need to stop driving to Westboro Beach. Tonight, the parking lot off the Parkway had vehicles parked on every available square inch of pavement. I would have taken a pic, but I had the light. And there was no space to actually get off the sidewalk. @ncc-ccn.gc.ca
Another day, another pick up truck carrying two adult, physically capable of walking men, thru a park to empty garbage cans. Most of the cans are actually closer to Byron than the pathway, so they could easily drive down Byron to do the same job. @mark-sutcliffe.bsky.social #Autowa
Once a summer (usually during Bluesfest) a bunch of small things go wonky on my bike, and I end up busing it to the shop near work. Today is that day. Bikey friends: enjoy this beautiful morning a little extra for me, k?
Ah yes, close enough to vacation time to start obsessively checking Nova Scotia weather, too.
I got 2 jumbo Mr. Freezies at a convenience store for under $2.50. So capitalism hasn't gotten to everything.
I went to the gem show in Bancroft today with my gemology buddy, for the first time ever! Holy crap the amount of money I could have spent. Saw a few "first time in real lifes" which is always a thrill. Came away with a few special stones that will hopefully someday become jewellery.
If you find yourself in Arnprior, you need to go to Biryani House. Omg it's the best South Asian food I have ever had! And then Mallard's for dessert!
Having ordered gravestones twice now, I cannot imagine sending this along to the supplier. "Yeah no, that's what Leo wanted. I mean, if you HAVE to sensor it, I guess, but Leo might haunt you."
Sometimes when doing genealogy research you stumble upon stuff that leaves you speechless.
Sure are a lot of people on fancy bikes with silly looking helmets, treating the River MUP as their personal closed training course this morning. 😒 #Ironman
I was just thinking of a certain human/dog duo I used to see most mornings on the River path, who I haven't seen since last fall. I saw them tonight omw home! Doggo is so handsome. 😍
To anyone on a bus southbound heading towards or already in The Glebe, if your your stop isn’t far, get out and walk, it’ll honestly be faster. (Special shoutout to the dude in the Porsche who violently accelerated to advance a whole three feet - it’s getting spicy on Bank St)
@arieltroster.com It's your name day at Merry Dairy!

Insane day. Whackadoodle even. Shit flying around like a dust storm. I could sleep for a week.
Weird day. Maybe it’s the full moon.
Back in the day when Bridgehead was everywhere, I used to pay them $2 for a little 1oz cup of cafiza to keep my travel coffee mug clean. Like the adult I pretend to be, and the coffee snob I am: I just ordered a whole bottle. Cuz you can do that. Whoa dude.
Oh apparently we're doing fireworks in the rain and fog. 🙄
Sometimes it feels like @en.ottawa.ca @octranspo.com And @mark-sutcliffe.bsky.social are not aware that some people actually exist outside of cars. Besides going for runs, of course.
Hey, @occtranspo.bsky.social , you might be interested in the dog’s breakfast that’s happening over at Lincoln Fields Station:
Nice of the rain to finally show up. Been waitin all day...
Please note where this idiot driver is camped out, while waiting for the light to turn green. (As it did the second I took this image). Hey fuckface, you're in the middle of the intersection, and you're blocking the crosswalk. Drivers in Autowa think the stop line belongs behind their vehicle. 🙄

#BikeHfx, the Brunswick St bike lane is blocked along the Cogswell to Gottingen section with no warning and no mitigation. Very hard to manage if you’re northbound!
Gonna tell my niblings this is Five Man Electrical Band.
The Ontario Ministry of Transportation should do a survey asking people if they want high speed rail between southern Ontario and Quebec city. Then, no matter the outcome, high speed rail should be built. With a connection going east to Halifax.
