To be clear: If “TTRPGs” in your scholarship, teaching, & outreach start & end with D&D — or even GMed games — that’s a skill issue you need to reconsider. You’re gonna get left behind.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I need more of you game freaks to make and sell t-shirts with your freak stuff on them. so I can buy and wear them. Please
Got some closeups of the Quickening Quartz cover. Im much more comfortable thinking in images compared to words so I did the entire cover before writing a word of the adventure, and used the cover image as my guide.
My Appendix N Jam submission is up! It's about a necromancer who is creating an undead army of only the beefiest barbarians and statuesque amazons and outfitting them with chainmail bikinis. There's also a sentient giant eyeball and a giant snake.
Reminder that we will be playing Perils & Princesses by @outridercreative.bsky.social TONIGHT! We are very excited to be playing this game and hope to see everyone at 7pm EDT on YouTube and Twitch. YT: youtube.com/live/fbiS4pV... T: www.twitch.tv/tabletopgami... #ttrpgs #indierpgs #actualplay
I ran my OSR adventure, The Knight Errant, using Daggerheart! My wife ran Perils & Princesses! The other two tables in this post are Call of Cthulhu 7e and Masks: A New Generation! Check the alt text for more info about the tables! (2/3)
I keep seeing those Austin Powers Verizon ads and I’m reminded of the time I spent my lawn-mowing money on a soundtrack CD for Austin Powers 2: The Spy Who Shagged Me just to have unlimited access to a number of photos of Heather Graham on the liner notes.

Aside from the Big Bang, what is the most important thing that has ever happened?
My spicy TTRPG art and layout take? Consider just straight up doubling your rates and see what happens. Even if you lose half your clients you make the same amount and now have way more free time to promote your stuff.
It's Perils & Princesses community copy day! Whenever I initiate a payout, I add community copies for every sale plus a few extra. Had a good month so there's a good amount up there outrider-creative.itch.io

I always put hyperlinks in Perils & Princesses PDFs, but leave it to Clayton once again to give me way more food for thought on something I thought I knew all about.
A short piece on the power of hyperlinks this week. If you're designing for digital and not using them, you're leaving one of your format's greatest strengths on the table. www.explorersdesign.com/how-to-hyper...
Not necessarily hotter. But definitely more romantic. Page 31 of Perils & Princesses.
The descriptors from that tired old OSR character generator: “ugly, bald, boring, hairy, obese, scrawny, stinky, forgettable, etc….” Those from my friend: “Doe-Eyed, Buxom, Quixotic” Please someone make a hotter OSR character generator somewhere.
How many sword and sorcery tropes can I fit into one piece of Appx N Jam cover art?
WE LOVE TO SEE IT
I ran Perils and Princesses (by @outridercreative.bsky.social) for a group of moms new to TTRPG from my son's daycare last night and, man, that could not have been more fun. One million percent recommend The Princess and The Dragon. They all can't wait to play again. Hats off Ryan, what a game.
The Art Institute of Chicago is world class. I’ve been there so many times and I love visiting my favorites, but every single time I find new stuff to fill the inspiration tank.
Really looking forward to hanging with the cast of the MFD Perils & Princesses season. We’re streaming live tomorrow!
Join us TOMORROW, Monday July 20th at 9pET for our LIVE TALKBACK with the MFD cast and the game's designers @outridercreative.bsky.social & @dhowl37.bsky.social Ft. @danielleradford.bsky.social @symphonyhorror.bsky.social @shenuque.bsky.social @bobigail.bsky.social @brianflaherty.bsky.social
Once in a while, I’ll do a drawing where I’ll finally hit that flow state, black out for a couple days working on it, then look back and realize: oh yeah, I’m actually pretty decent at this whole art thing.
Sometimes shipping something across the globe is more expensive than the cost of the thing being shipped. There's a certain type of person that finds this fact of life extremely offensive.
Power lines spontaneously exploded. It’s a million degrees out with no AC and the air quality here is questionable at best. Electric company “fixed it” but it exploded a second time and now I’m waiting on a response
You guys, someone on Facebook commented that “WITCHES ARE NOT GOOD” if you wanted to know how promoting thjs game about squirrels and flowers is going.
Last year, Fiammingo games asked me to provide the art and layout for The Witches’ Road. A cozy whimsical board game about cottage witches moving through the enchanted forest, from town to town, infusing their magic, growing gardens and helping the woodland creatures.
Hey folks! trying to get the rest of my funds together to get to Gen Con this year! Please check out the bundle and repost so I can reach people outside of my normal audience!
