One way to make your fantasy pantheon feel weirder and more resonant with mythology is to make them more LOCAL. Gods cannot hear you if you're not at their specific shrine. Not all gods are known to you. Their blessings must be discovered. Not all gods are for you. Their worship is proscribed.

It's a setting after an ecological disaster where people are oppressed and exploited by powerful individuals. Where survival is a way of life. But there's always that sliver of hope. The most relevant D&D setting to what's happening in real life. And we want to trust big corpo to do it justice?

Really, *really* dislike what I'm seeing of the new Dark Sun. OG Dark Sun had some seriously cool, *very relevant* themes (life under tyranny, life after genocide, life after ecocide) + bondage glam rock Jojo-pose aura-farming. This new stuff is busy-gore + generic metal + cyberpunk (???) Urgh.

Also: the irony of this new nonsense getting coverage as "D&D's most heavy metal setting" when one of the (many) cool things about it was that metal is rare as hell because we've exhausted the earth.

Remember Itch has a handy link to take you to the jam entries that haven’t gotten many (or any) ratings and comments yet. Make sure to give a look to the work from newer folks in the scene that might get missed, not just the big names. #TTRPG #OSR

Hey #appxnjam folks! I have updates on late submitting! Make an itch page for your work (if you haven't already) and email me the link (dankdungeons@gmail.com) Then I will generate a special late submission link for you and send that over, at which point you can use that to submit!
