The best story ICE could make up, after 12 hours, is that ICE agents shot someone in the head because they believed the person they shot, who was not accused of any crime, was a different person also not accused of any crime, and so "public safety" required killing them on the spot.

It took DHS 12 hours to come up with this statement, And the best they could come up with is that ICE shot and killed an unarmed man who didn’t present a threat to the agents. They know they fucked this one up. And it’ll be up to state and local prosecutors—not the feds—to make the case

I am so very sorry to hear about the passing about my friend and colleague Professor Kimuli Kasara. She was a brilliant scholar and a bright, funny, warm person. I remember first meeting her as the only other Black woman/faculty at the Columbia political econ seminar and feeling relief/happiness

Encouraging. I mean, one hopes the American public doesn’t like having their neighbors abducted and their fellow citizens shot dead, but given what else it seems to tolerate of late (Jan 6, anyone?), I still find this encouraging

Before I even got home from a protest over the shooting of Renee Good, I was hearing reports of CBP shooting two in Portland OR. FFS. Stay safe out there people, keep It peaceful but make some noise cuz this shit is unacceptable

A friendly reminder that no ICE officer has ever been killed in the line of duty in a hostile incident. Being an elementary schoolchild in America is far more deadly and dangerous than being an ICE officer.

So this is obviously bad, but for the normies who don't pay attention to such things isn't this going to cost the US taxpayers like $30mm for a 40 minute speech that could have been a zoom call?

It was just block after block of people coming from Malcolm X Park headed downtown. Lots of energy despite the heat, and cheers from passersby, as well as church bells ringing in support.
