Now that I’m looking way into the past with CRPGs, it’s obvious the influence those games had on the JRPG genre. The big three are Wizardry, Ultima, and probably Might & Magic. If you look at games like the first few Megami Tensei games, yeah. The influence of Wizardry is undeniable.

Hey guys. Just a quick personal update. I’m still not there, mentally. I’ve also got a migraine I’m working through today at work, plus I have a family emergency that happened this afternoon. Needless to say, I don’t think I’d be particularly entertaining tonight, so I’m canceling stream.

I mean…wow. I struck gold with this one. Sure, it’s a 5.25-inch floppy version. But holy shit this deluxe set of Wing Commander came with EVERYTHING. Not just the two expansions, but every last piece of documentation and every poster.

EA's annual Ebitda is around $1.5 billion, which should be enough to service the interest payments. But the publisher has told debt investors that it will cut $700 million in annual costs including $170 million in "organizational efficiencies," per Bloomberg. In other words: mass layoffs

EA officially goes private tonight, meaning: - EA will no longer trade on the NASDAQ for the first time in 36 years - All stockholders of EA (including many employees) will receive $210/share - EA will take on $18 billion (!) in debt, putting it on the hook to pay ~$1.8 billion/year in interest

I try not to say things publicly like this anymore. It makes people worry and I try not to bring personal drama onto my BlueSky. I had that phase when I was young, drinking heavily, and wasn’t medicated for my mental illnesses.

As for today, stream is up in the air. I’ve been consistently streaming on Sundays for the last few weeks, but Aspen and I want to watch the 1992 Coppola Dracula movie. Maybe I’ll squeeze in a short-ish stream while she’s making some cookies. That said, I’m also quite tired.

becoming a parent has turned out to be a great excuse to learn the entire alphabet. sometimes he’ll ask me what a letter is and i’m like well shit, bubba. let’s find out together

Not one of my better streams because I wasn’t very talkative. But I was pretty locked in and got back to where we were last year, and that took…what? Three? Four episodes? We’re back to hydroponics, where I got stuck last year. This time, we’re gonna break through. Tomorrow’s stream is TBD.

We’re gonna be in transition for our stream alerts and stuff. StreamElements is not only part of Razer now, they’re selling your personal information, they’re based in Israel, and they use degenerative AI. So we’re gonna be transitioning to MixItUp in the next couple of weeks.
