In Tabor, Iowa, a school board erupted for what would otherwise be a routine vote to hire a slate of new teachers. Why? Because a teacher was trans. The school board decided after hearing comments not to hire him, even though he already set up his classroom. Subscribe to support our journalism.

After Anti-Trans Uproar At School Board Meeting, Iowa School District Rejects Trans Band Teacher

An Iowa school district chose to start the school year without the new band teacher instead of allowing a trans educator to take on the role he was offered, following protests from parents.

Heyyo, starting to advertise my fics here. Most of it is ZZZ (specifically JaneYuan fics, my beloved) but if that's your vibe look for part-17 on Ao3 <3 In a bit of slump rn, but I recently posted a BelleCole fic for the girlies!

I cannot express enough to you how much POWER your reposts have on Bluesky. Because Bluesky doesn't have an algorithm on your following page, every person who follows you will see anything and everything you repost. So even if you don't have a ton of followers, your reposts are still STRONG.

NEW: Trans people centered themselves in a trans case before a very not trans court. Not only was Chase Strangio arguing Wednesday, but a trans plaintiff was in the courtroom, as were many other trans lawyers, journalists, and observers. "Trans people were not hidden Wednesday, and that matters."

Not only was Chase Strangio arguing, but a trans plaintiff was in the courtroom Wednesday, as were many other trans people: lawyers, journalists, observers. It matters.

In those marble halls, I hugged L.W. and her family and told them, with the most sincerity I’ve ever spoken, thank you, before heading off to the press seating. Casey Parks spent the day with the family at SCOTUS. I’m so proud of this kid and her family for fighting. Read Casey’s story.

Wondering what it’s like to go to the Supreme Court? I sat with trans teen L.W. during the historic oral arguments: wapo.st/4fjKpFn

I think ACB may be oddly persuadable. This exchange raised my eyebrow. She seemed to be unaware of anti cross dressing laws and independently brought it up later surprised to learn about the long history of actual legal discrimination. She’s also sided with liberals on not taking up cases.

"When you're 1% of the population, it's very hard to see how the democratic process will protect you" was quite a statement at the court after the TN attorney argued that the equal protection should be declined in favor of “the democratic process.”

Chase Strangio walks out of the court to cheers after he becomes the first trans attorney to present a case to SCOTUS. Video too big in size but will post later.
