Grandmother in the lib chatting about recent cinema trip: "I LOVE the Marvels. We took the kids yesterday. It's long but we didn't feel like it was TOO long. And VERY well acted."

IN WHAT FUCKING UNIVERSE?
This last week I was just cookin’ along minding my business when I suddenly found myself quite depressed.

Amnesty International put out a major report documenting the influence of UK based anti trans gender critical organizations and their funding. Within hours, GC groups threatened defamation lawsuits and Amnesty was forced to pull it down. Proving the point they're anti rights. Anyways, here it is.

Paging my personal rugby consultant to see if this book can be withdrawn 🏉
You sometimes see Government TDs pointing out that Ireland isn’t unique in the world in having a housing crisis. But this graph in today’s Financial Times shows just how extreme ours is compared to the places elsewhere, which also describe themselves as a in a housing crisis.
The heat's got to me finally. A man came in to the lib and I asked how can I help. "I'd like to fill out an application." Me: for what? "...a library card"
I'm an optimist so either way a team I don't like is going home 😊

Uisce Eireann won't release up to date figures on how much mains water is going to data centres. Surely this is environmental information which should be accessible to the public? Who does this lack of transparency serve? www.dublininquirer.com/does-irish-w...
Does Irish Water even know how much water data centres are using?
Much of the debate around data centres has focused on electricity, but the gap in figures for their water use has started to draw more attention – and breed mistrust.

Teen girl: "do you have Fight Club here?" Me: "as in a club to join, or the book?" (The kids can't handle my library comedy)

On Brexit day, I travelled to Ourense, Spain to visit friends I had made while on a paid teaching placement the year prior, c/o the EU. It's not a perfect union, but opportunities like that are such a benefit to self development and education.
