I’m assuming these batteries’ max continuous power output is ~10kW, so 2000 of them adds ~20MW to the Chicago grid. This would represent a significant fraction of the total battery capacity in PJM! Very cool that they are being used to instantly lower residential costs. The batteries are coming :)

I’ve been trying to explain this to people for years! Describing battery “duration” as the shortest possible time they can discharge energy is misleading. They can discharge almost arbitrarily slowly if you pay them to!
