I agree wholeheartedly with Sam. "if your problem with open access is that commercial publishers are hoovering up all the money, design open access interventions that specifically prevent commercial publishers from receiving your money" The CRUK approach will badly harm their patient advocates.

I’ve written on how our recent genAI policy was made at @openlibhums.org Many open access publishers are waiting for clear global standards to be devised for the appropriate use and declaration of genAI in scholarly research and publishing. We’ve aimed to provide a flexible and extensible start.
