Pretty bold of KEXP to segue directly from the Gin Blossoms' "Hey Jealousy" into an ad bragging that KEXP plays music "you'll never hear anywhere else." Respectfully, "Hey Jealousy" is about one decade away from being played on a loop in every single retirement home in this godforsaken country.

Can someone please explain why Coors Light is absolutely everywhere this summer? It's been over two decades since I last cracked a Coors Light, but as I recall it tasted like if LaCroix made a donkey piss flavor, only slightly less bubbly.

An initiative on the ballot in Washington state in November would require all athletes seeking to play girl's sports from kindergarten to high school to undergo "genetic screening, a testosterone-levels test, or an examination of their reproductive anatomy" before they can play

The Campaign to Force Genital Exams on Girl Athletes Soon Washington State could require sex-verification tests for those playing sports in schools.
Portrait of Andrea González-Ramírez
By Andrea González-Ramírez, a senior writer for The Cut who covers systems of power. Those physicals, Maria explains, are usually perfunctory: “Like, Are you walking normally? Are you lightheaded? I have never had to take any clothes off. I’ve never felt uncomfortable or violated.” If IL26-638 were to pass and Maria were still in school, she says she would likely drop out of her team. (We’re withholding Maria’s real name to protect her privacy.) “I honestly don’t know if I would be able to do these tests,” she adds. “It would also make me question, If I do it, are all my teammates going to too? Or would I just play with the three or four girls who are willing to or have access to do it?”

He’s a historically unpopular president who can’t stay awake for 20 consecutive minutes. He’s losing his juice with his own party and he’s a joke to everyone else. The media still treats him like a frightening genius because it’s in their best interests to prop him up. But this is embarrassing.

What a horribly bad framing. The president can’t get his own party to vote for his own nominee that they confirmed for the next-rung-lower role just last year! That’s not a “threat,” you incompetent people.

Are we still bombing boats in the Caribbean and the media has just gotten bored of covering the attacks? Or did the Trump administration just get bored of bombing boats in the Caribbean?

Yesterday I was taking my greyhounds out for their morning perambulation. A guy whizzed by on a bike and as he passed he said, “It’s nice that you’re taking your deer out for a walk.”

Oberon, an elderly red greyhound, is looking at me and smiling. Wallace, a red blind senior greyhound, is looking toward me with concern. It’s sunny on the trail and grass is high, giving the scene a pastoral look.
