8 June - our first small PARISH workshop in historic Košice! Together with Radka Palenčarová and Stanisław Witecki, we compared #earlymodern parish politics in Eger and Kraków, discussed key concepts and hypotheses, and explored one of East Central Europe’s most fascinating urban landscapes. #ERCCoG

During the seventeenth century it became one of the focal points of confessional struggles between the local Lutheran and Catholic communities.The former Jesuit church in Košice, completed around 1660. 20 July 1668 #OTD Thornton fell ill on hearing of rumours circulating about her: 'Barbara Todd, did impudently accuse, before my face, my servant (Hannah Ableton) for telling her from one Mary Breakes of several stories —which were very great lies and falsehoods against myself' (Bk Rem, 122). 🗃️
