It’s wild how when Pokemon Go first came out a bunch of folks were like “This feels like a way to crowdsource very detailed maps of the insides of public & private spaces which could be used for pretty bad reasons”.. & people were like “calm down, it’s a game!”, & guess what turned out to be true?

Got a v nice email from someone letting me know this towel I designed for @maximumfun.org last year is their fav towel & wondering if there’s a way to get another. I can’t help with that part, but honestly it was really nice to hear, because this is one of my fav things I’ve made in recent years. 🦄

Just got one of those weird AI-generated paid-promotion book review emails about a book that is basically a perpetual day-planner / art book, with short fiction, which was published 16 years ago, and is likely close to out of print.

the new BBC Lord of the Flies miniseries is very good, and also, extremely harsh and upsetting. Like, pretty brutal, which of course it should be.. but dang.

I was just sent a finished reference image by a coworker for a project I was about to start on, and I said “Oh wow, that’s really beautiful, who drew that one?” & she said “well, I composited it, but those are your drawings” so basically I’ll be hiding in this hole for the rest of the day.

This is really weird, but there’s a guy I don’t really like who has a tattoo of my old band, and literally every time I run into him, he says “I still have that tattoo, man!” and I’m always like “Yeah, I mean, that’s famously how tattoos work."

Constantly honing my unique skillset (putting a pot of rice on, walking away “just for a second” while waiting for it to boil, completely forgetting about it, and then running upstairs in a panic to find it boiled over and burned to the bottom of the pot)

Recently learned that someone I know and like doesn’t just not believe in the moon landings, she genuinely doesn’t believe that space is real at all. I don’t know what to do with this information.

My mother, who is perfect and wonderful, just sent me an absolutely deranged AI video about people with irish heritage (me) having a higher incidence of celiac (questionable) and it’s all extremely uncanny “people” looking at bread with devastated expressions, and then weird animations of DNA.

Just impressed my coworkers by knowing this guy’s full name right off the dome, (it’s Michigan J. Frog) if you were wondering what I bring to the table as an employee.

Imagine going back in time, into the room where Quaker execs are pitching the name “Cap’n Crunch OOPS All Berries!” and being like “Listen, this is going to sound crazy, but what you’re doing here today is going to become the foundation of SO many podcast jokes for decades to come."

I can’t really articulate why, but @jennifermarmor.bsky.social proclaiming “I don’t give a dog’s rip!” on the most recent #JJHO membo mailbag really got me in a way that felt very Nova Scotia coded.

Just remembered one time in highschool when I saw a local ad on tv that had a teenage weirdo in it, who looked so much like me, that it really rocked me, and I got kind of freaked out and kept worrying I was going to run into my doppelgänger somewhere in the city.

Our whole garden which I can see from my office window has just been full of cedar waxwings since this afternoon, and badabababah I’m lovin’ it.

I know duckduckgo isn’t perfect, but it does allow you to easily disable ALL of the AI features from search, & everywhere else, which is huge. The biggest, absolute game-changing feature though is using duckplayer to watch any youtube video WITHOUT ADS. None. It’s a beautiful thing.

Yet another reason why I love the Maximum Fun Co-op and the kind folks who own/operate it.

I keep thinking about a gag from Widow’s Bay where the mayor is absent-mindedly flipping thru a calendar, pics of wolves one after the other. Then a photo of a transport truck flipped in a ditch.. at which he pauses, flips back to the cover to see the title “Wolves” & then puts it back on the wall.

It's amazing that Christian Bale's Frankenstein makeup in The Bride! kind of just makes him look like Ted Danson.
