Some 15 (!) years ago I worked on my own version of a #c64 AGI interpreter. I was able to run several KQ1 rooms before I lost interest due to the enormity of the task. Apparently Mean Hamster Software succeeded in keeping motivation high: meanhamster.com/games/agi-64

Was working on implementing a heart/health system in my latest #C64 game. With a player death check not yet implemented, my routine was happy to spit out 255 hearts 😀. #gamedev

I'm still using the exact same #C64 Programmers Reference Guide that my late father bought some 40 years ago for 59 Dutch guilders! It even still contains some of his handwritten notes...

Implemented player "eye blinking idle animation". Although it only changes two pixels for a few frames, it makes all the difference! 😀

For my new #c64 game I'm again going for a "single-button multi-purpose" control scheme. I was quite happy with how this turned out in #Spelunky64 :)
