i use em dashes in my writing and will continue to until the heat death of the universe — if people jump to conclusions and assume i used an AI to write, they are merely demonstrating a shallow and lower level of intelligence in doing so

Some thoughts: 1) There are tinges of hypocrisy in his statements here. 2) He proves a point that if some have AI tech, it may be an unfair advantage, but he doesn't recognize a human advantage. 3) And it's interesting he heralds an open-source ecosystem. Gaining favor or pushing off regulation?

I don't think we're alarmed enough re capitalist knowledge crisis as journalists are laid off en masse, publishing houses bought-up by private equity, newspapers & social media owned by billionaires that make no conceit of being fair, no $ for art for decades. Institutions destroyed; tools denied.

being a billionaire and on the internet all day is crazy to me. if i had even five million dollars, you would not find me online whatsoever.
Google search is so bad now it doesn't even work to find articles I wrote at previous jobs.
And they didn't take the Covid pandemic seriously. And they didn't consider masking. And they didn't lead the country in investment for improving air quality systems. And they didn't address climate change effects fuelling wildfires. Sighs.

Amanda Mull@amandamull.bsky.social · 2w agoI’ve noticed recently that when you type the word “imagine” as part of an Instagram DM, you get a little prompt to use a Meta AI tool and I’ve never encountered a feature more obviously implemented at the behest of a senior-level manager who has no idea how anyone uses the product in my life
Everything else aside, taking a principled anti-war crimes stance provides a nice contrast at the current moment.
