I bought this book as my father, who died in 1975, was in the Royal Artillery in World War II. This generation are almost gone now, so I am very glad indeed that their own personal histories have been set down in published form.

So the cricket season has finished early again with the advent of the Hundred. As in previous years the county championship is unresolved, but by the time the wankfest finishes we will all have lost interest. It is no coincidence that out test team has fallen off a cliff since this travesty began.
