Currently at 69% of our target (nice) -- we really need to book Mango & the wonky kittens in for scans & treatment ASAP. So here's our promise: if we hit the goal by the end of the week, we will keep wobbly dwarf kitten Chessie and name her Smolla Paula www.gofundme.com/f/emergency-...
Last weekday of unemployment today. I've enjoyed my time off but I'm looking forward to getting stuck in to my new job next week. Quite excited, and naturally a bit apprehensive.
Quickish post today for @ontheapex.com, on the Ferrari and Peugeot new car tests, and some thoughts on that. www.ontheapex.com/ferrari-499p...
Ferrari and Peugeot test new 2027 Hypercars
New or updated cars for both LMH-rules manufacturers in 2027 mean they'll go up against Ford and McLaren's new cars next year.

I am good at some things. I am talented at others. DIY is not one of them. I'm so bad at it. Properly awful. Ugh.
New issue of @ontheapex.com out now - this week it's looking at InMotion, a team of Dutch students working on a battery electric sportscar, with the dream of racing the car at Le Mans in Garage 56 in the future. www.ontheapex.com/charging-in-...
Charging in 4 minutes: InMotion's electric Le Mans dream
This all-electric prototype can charge its battery in 4 minutes and is built by a student team in the Netherlands. Their dream: racing at Le Mans.

I have a feeling Andy Burnham might be just what this country needs. I hope I'm right.
"Larry likes his breakfast at 9, brunch at 1030 and lunch at noon with plenty of snacks in between. The rest of the job is a doddle"
Bought a new book to solidify and upskill (dislike that term but oh well) myself for my new job. Exciting times.
Doing tech stuff at church today, for the YouTube live stream. Fun!
It's unfortunate BoP is needed and necessary in modern sportscar racing, but it's here to stay. Unfortunately. www.thepitstopendurance.com/opinion-bala...
OPINION: BoP in WEC/IMSA is unfortunately here to stay
Balance of Performance has created the close racing seen in the FIA World Endurance Championship this year, but it's a shame it's needed at all.

I don't really care for football, but I like sport and big sporting occasions, so it's a shame England lost. But nothing can upset me today, because earlier I was offered a new full time job. Better pay than my old job, in a role that suits me more and one I seem to be pretty good at. Woohoo!
So If England lose, domestic violence increases by 38% If they win or draw its 26% It's gonna be a lose-lose for some tonight womensaid.org.uk/get-involved...

Right well that's over with I can stop pretending to be interested in football again and none too soon too I'm like 15 hours behind on various motorsport.
7 charts in this article - the most I've ever included in an @ontheapex.com post - to comprehensively examine how Ferrari almost took their first win of the year at Interlagos, against BMW, Alpine and Cadillac.
Ferrari came within 2.3 seconds of beating BMW at Interlagos 🇧🇷 Here's how they nearly pulled it off. 11th on the grid. Podium at the flag. Full breakdown of the pit stops, the pace, and the Cadillac mistakes that opened the door 👇 www.ontheapex.com/ferrari-inte...
Question for anyone who watched the WEC Interlagos race and used the official live timing. Did it have virtual fuel tank / VFT data displayed? It may not have displayed by default but might have been a column you could add to the timing.
I've wanted to be able to do these for ages, so to finally be able to make them is fantastic. Hope you enjoy!
Lap chart from Interlagos for the Hypercars 👇
Cadillac 🤝 chewing through tyres Name a more iconic duo etc etc
Can Aston Martin back this practice pace up with a podium or win at Interlagos on Saturday?! 🇬🇧 See all the stats and data from WEC Friday practice at Interlagos 👇 www.ontheapex.com/aston-martin...
Aston Martin tops average pace in Interlagos practice
Aston Martin top the average pace in Interlagos, but Ferrari are very close behind, with the Hypercar field separated by less than 7 tenths.

Using new chart tech this weekend (D3.js) so can do much better visualisations and charts. Next step is animating them... But anyway. Aston Martin looks quick at Interlagos. But the field is ridiculously tight, just a few tenths in it separating multiple manufacturers. Exciting stuff!

I recently spoke to Stephane Ratel about GT3's immense success as a sportscar ruleset and how that could lead to the class's downfall if left unchecked. A fascinating chat. I have lots of follow up questions for him, which I'll ask him at some point. Read below!👇 www.ontheapex.com/gt3-creator-...
GT3's creator on why its own success is its biggest risk
Stephane Ratel tells On The Apex about the paradox between GT3's unparalleled success as a sportscar ruleset, and how that could lead to its own downfall if left unchecked.

I see the Red Bull RB17 is doing the rounds again. Cue people saying "it should race at Le Mans!". Even before the 2030 regs were announced it was unlikely, and now we know the new regs are LMDh on steroids, it's basically guaranteed not to happen, unless something extraordinary changes.
They need to make it so Sprints are for reserve/third drivers only. A separate championship for non-GP drivers would be genuinely interesting.
NEW: 34 races on 2027 calendar? Formula 1 tipped to announce 10 sprint races next year The 2027 Formula 1 calendar could feature a total of 34 races as the championship is poised to add yet more sprint events. More:

Do you have to be wearing neon yellow/green to get into the Lando Norris grandstand?
Note: the best day of Hulkenberg's career was surely winning Le Mans at his first attempt in 2015.
I'm not really a football fan but I enjoy live sport. I've watched two England games in this World Cup. This DRC game and the Ghana match. I haven't seen England score yet.
