@lecinenerd.bsky.social So, I have this mental list of movies from 302010, In and Out finally was purchased... I was a little surprised to see that it says 1997 on the back of the box. How is a conversation from a podcast I listened to 8 years, and 4 kids ago still influencing my purchasing?
I know this might not be the point, but could these people support their local bottle shops. Maybe its the Wisconsinite in me, but they wouldn't need to pull out their IDs if they supported the small business for alcohol.
Leavitt: "You need an ID to go and purchase alcohol. You need an ID to go to the library and check out a book. So the president thinks you should have an ID to vote in our nation's elections."
I would say a 5-mile run. But not in a race setting.
referring to metroidvanias as "hollowslop" to simultaneously piss off people who like metroidvanias, people who like hollow knight, people who want a better genre name for "metroidvania", people who are sick of the word slop being misused, and gradius fans who want to see more checkpoint recoveries
My memory is bad, whatever happened at the end of Don Quixote?
Trump: "Today, I'm playing the best course I think in the world. Turnberry. Even though I own it, it's probably the best course in the world. And I look over the horizon and I see 9 windmills at the end of the 18th. I say, isn't that a shame?"

Though Miller's comment is about the Twin Cities, I am reminded of this wonderful article from a few years back about a different Midwest "terrible city" onmilwaukee.com/articles/ter... Which I am due to reread now.

Hello, big market sports punditry. I see you over there on the coast, scoffing about Milwaukee's historic victory in the NBA Finals. You've probably never been to Milwaukee, so let me try to explain t...

Stephen Miller: "We have communities all across this nation that 20 years ago, before the era of open borders, were completely peaceful, completely stable. Look at a place like Minneapolis. Post mass migration they're unsafe, they're violent, you cannot use the public parks."
The curse of Andor Season 1 having been two infants ago and your memory is spotty on season 1 because of it.

Every year on Memorial Day, I share this video of French caretakers who take sand from Omaha Beach in Normandy, and scrub them into the letters to give them the gold coloring. They do this for all 9,386 US soldiers who died. France also gave us this land as American soil.
I've been watching a Kikkoman plant being built for the past year. It won't be ready until sometime in 2026. A committed car factory sounds worthless to me at the moment.
Trump: "We have at least 11 committed, massive car factories that are gonna be built. That are in the process of being built. Some have actually started."
I can guarantee you that no, I will not be buying it off of amazon.
Miller: "If you had a choice between a doll from China that might have lead paint from it that is not as well constructed, as a doll made in America that has a highly environmental and regulatory standard & those two products are both on Amazon, that yes, you probably would be willing to pay more."
Pretty sure there are cheaper ways to find a new barber... Who will actually even put your sideburns.

The kids are finishing up The Wild Robot. Which means they can finally watch it, guess I know what this week's movie is going to be.... That or showing mom Moana 2.
It's been an exhausting weekend, but a good one. I've also been reminded how much I love my music. I can't stop listening to Smoking Popes and Brendan Kelley.
As I listen to music today.... It still blows my mind that the guy behind Nihilist Arby's created two of my favorite albums.
Go for a 7 mile run. Eat at my favorite brunch place. Let the wife wander IKEA. Take the kids to the zoo. Today was pretty good.
