I've seen folks defending the concept of "vibe coding" as valid in the industry and I don't get why. Vibe coding is the AI equivalent of a hobbyist writing just code. The quality of the work is variable. Professional software engineers should not (and usually do not) proceed that way.
Many of our favorites from the past couple years came in the mail from the Imagination Library. We value books, we'd have books around no matter what and it STILL made our lives better.

This is probably the #1 way Claude has changed how I think. I understood decoupling, DI, etc., but I didn’t visualize my program structure as “seams” and now I do.

Surprisingly it had an answer: "It's a term from Michael Feathers (Working Effectively with Legacy Code): a seam is a place in a program where you can change what happens without editing the code that calls it."
Tremendously sad to see the Grasshopper Fire running west so fast. Satellite shows hot spots already across hwy 35, seems like Mt Hood Meadows may well burn.
Moonshot and Kimi were in the closet distilling Fables and I saw one of the Fables and the Fable looked at me.

I'm not sure I understand the strategy after July 12 though. Is the top tier max subscription just forever not going to be their best product? That seems like... not standard product marketing.

I think the exact opposite is true: after like a decade of feeling totally static, I've started to notice Spotify changing every time I open it. What's happening is they aren't changing the core interactions, so you can ignore the new stuff if you want.

He said Spotify does 4,500 production deployments a day and 73% of PRs are now AI-assisted. At a point stats are meaningless. I can’t recall 4 features Spotify has shipped this year

Looks like WWDC26 ends individual labs. I only see distribution/marketing appointments. Huge loss for the developer community, for almost 20 years those have been a key channel to understand dark corners of the OS frameworks.
Impossible to miss a TON of talk about the presenter's kids, and pictures of kids in this year's Keynote.
Here's something I've always wondered. If that's true, how did 30th and Stark get built?

antirez@antirez.bsky.social · 4mo agoDwarfStar distributed inference is now on GitHub: you can run 2 bit Flash using 2 64GB machines, or 4 bit Flash with two 128GB machines or 4 64GB, ad so forth. Prefill speed will increase thanks to pipelining. Generation will pay the latency.
