Can you be religious and humanist? It partly depends on definitions, but the question opens up an interesting conversation about what lies behind the labels people use. understandinghumanism.org.uk/articles/can...

We are THOUGHTFUL - the charity for P4C (new name for SAPERE). 4 decades and still going strong #p4c #philosophymatters
Yesterday was the beginning of British Philosophy Fortnight, and we held an event to make a special announcement, and to celebrate the work going on in our schools - showing people why #PhilosophyMatters and why we all need to be Thoughtful:
Wonderful to plan another Philosofun on the important theme of CLIMATE. A great group of participants mostly from England and also Northern Ireland, Quebec and Saudi Arabia. Teachers, university lecturers and organisations joined us for an hour and a bit of powerful and fun thinking together.
Been putting the final touches for the upcoming #Philosofun CPD on the cross curricular theme of CLIMATE. Think this may well be one of my favourites themes yet to plan. Expand your understanding of the concept of climate in a playful way. Do join us. www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/philosofun...
What a wonderful podcast to listen to at the end of a busy week! Loved hearing from CDEC director Laura that the Virtual Voices in RE (VVRE) was a particular highlight recently. Looking forward to the next podcast already!

Some things are worth the distance and train delays to hear and feel in-person. Thanks Darren for an inspiring and needed contribution to the @saperep4c.bsky.social conference 2024.
Yesterday I gave a keynote at the @saperep4c.bsky.social annual conference, exploring my 28 year involvement with Philosophy for Children and my work on P4C and racism.

Back in Venice again.. staying with my translator friend. Lots of discussions about my research on untranslatable words. But this photo caught my eye today - Your eye as art. Such rich philosophical potential: What makes art? I was extremely tempted to purchase my own eye as art. #p4c
Great to see a resource of mine on the brilliant P4C.com resource hub. Informed by my experience of doing/observing P4C in nursery and EY contexts in Scotland, Wales and England!

Great to get home to find a new playful resource in the post. I was involved in developing this with Lynda Dunlop from the University of York and me on behalf of @saperep4c.bsky.social Expert advice from my son who had just finished A Level sciences this summer!
All set up for Day 1 of @saperep4c.bsky.social Level 1 at Glasgow Academy (my 3rd Level 1 here over the last 3 years). My ‘wonder’ collection, example stimuli, teaching resources for P4C. Love this display board in the training room classroom!
