A very worrying return to the Cold War in the current geopolitical context. It evokes a past of interventionism: from Guatemala in 1954 to Caracas today, the historical echoes of bombings and external pressure as tools of political and economic control in Latin America are still present.

Women’s bodies are war zones in Sudan, DRC, Haiti and beyond. Yet just 10% of funding to support survivors is provided. Sexual violence in conflict is not invisible - it is ignored. Our plea to donors: don’t cut money for survivors of these cowardly, pathetic men.
The closure of UN offices and humanitarian programmes that support migration and refugee undermines protection & the human rights infrastructure that support it. It leaves millions without essential aid amidst violence and poverty. This are root causes, and will create not reduce the need to flee.
