Two things can be true: i) QS rankings are heavily subjective, corruptible, self-fuelling and generally an outrage against social science measurement; ii) nonetheless, Politics & IR at Southampton is bloody good, on the rise and great fun, and I'm delighted to be part of it.

Lastly, we had @emiliabelknap.bsky.social present on how to conduct feminist focus groups with a particular focus on how to encourage collective meaning making. She outlined how to use an intersectional lens to consider consider power hierarchies in focus groups. Then, a Q&A session with our panel!

Next we have Dr Matthew Hunt discussing sociolinguistics and contextual expectations - about how categories of people of different ages, genders and ethnicities are expected to behave in a particular frame.
