Насколько опизденительно тупым самокатным петухом надо быть, чтобы припарковать его не просто у велопарковки (к этому я уже привык), но поперёк неё?
unsure if the pub i did this for ever poublished this story so tentatively posting it here
Just a phone recording, but it sounds pretty great, sounds better than a poorly mixed official live recording. Anyway, dude's killing it.

Ray Harryhausen's stop-motion skeletons in Jason and the Argonauts are amazing even now. He animated the sequence by himself for more than four months -- without computers or even an easy way to check his work. We're looking into how he did it: animationobsessive.substack.com/p/how-ray-ha...

People are sharing a post about My Dinner With Andre, and I'm such a terminally online content consuming machine, I recognize it from a fucking Steamed Hams parody short film (yes, that's a thing), My Dinner With Skinner.
Okay, one thing I *really* don't like about Prey is the Nightmare segments. You have to kill a huge miniboss or hide from it for 3 minutes, and it comes back every few location transitions. And the game has limited ammo! So you hide in the nearest bathroom and put the game down for 3 minutes. F U N
Great science-based stuff from Layne as usual. Proper weight loss advice is extremely boring. Do whatever is most comfortable for adherence, prefer whole foods for satiety, get enough protein for muscle retention, cardio good, resistance training really really good.

"what happens if you throw an object" is one of the dumbest-sounding things I've googled (I needed to check what JavaScript does if you throw an object as an error).
Reached the section in Prey with microgravity and atmosphere, so you fly around with your gun out, and I'm thinking - this really reminds me of the alien ship in Crysis. Then I remembered seeing Cryengine mentioned in the intro screens, and of course it does - it's the same engine!

Man, the whole thing with Prey (2017) being called "Prey" because Bethesda wanted to use a trademark they had is so unfortunate. I was always confused whenever I saw it mentioned because I thought people were talking about the 2006 game, and I never checked it out.
As scholars of this predicted. The ban doesn't work. Kids will use it even more privately. This shuts down conversations and avenues for support. Risk of harm increases. Hers my advice about this www.bishuk.com/relationship...

I haven't watched CR in a while, but one of my favorite things is how fucking happy Liam always is to be doing this with his friends. It's the birthday gift that keeps on giving, and giving, and then some.
Took me seconds to make an image showing 'protesters' around Google buildings, using Google Earth's new AI generation tool. You can make bomb blasts, protesters, drone strikes, nuclear plants. How on earth did Google think this was a good idea www.404media.co/google-earth...
I wrote an update on the dispute with Ruby Central over Bundler and RubyGems. I'm sad it's reached this point, especially since Ruby Central's conferences are a big part of what convinced me to join the Ruby community back in the day. andre.arko.net/2026/07/30/rub…
Ruby Central's Destructive Legacy
At conferences and meetups, and in conversations online, many Ruby developers have asked me about Ruby Central and my disagreement with them. This post is my attempt to answer the questions I’ve been getting over and over, covering: 1) what is Ruby Central doing now? 2) has the dispute over Bundler…

The drama around Professor DM's Deathbringer crowdfunding campaign is the dumbest thing ever. It's a cheesy game with a sleazy artstyle, and he makes clickbait titles and mild tongue-in-cheek jabs about D&D being soft, and people are painting him as a full-on raging chud grifter like Ernie Gygax.

Tried Eclipse (2e), and I can fully vouch for Quinns's review. For a crunchy game, the rules are fairly digestible, the gameplay is slick, and a playthrough with a full 6-person roster of 1st/2nd-time players took about 5-6 hours, which is blazingly fast for a weighty strategy game.
