yup. unrestricted internet access is what allowed me to learn who i am, while being stuck in an environment that was extremely hostile to the idea. its also what made me who i am, in a way, and i don’t have a single regret about it either. it’s what saved me from becoming a bigoted idiot, really.

it saddens me when i hear someone lament on mainstream platforms that "the old internet is gone" it isn't! it was never mainstream, neither then nor now. then, search engines sucked so we used link dumps, webrings, and forums to find each other, and we're still there today!
