BTW: This rarely comes up but in case anyone following me ever wonders why I won't "like" a series of posts with someone I am actively engaging in: I kinda don't want to use the "like" feature to indicate that I "like" when bad things happen; I reserve the "like" feature for actually good things. :B

*just played through Sonic 2 for the first time in years* ...you know... I still remember the first time I beat Sonic 2 back when I was 10/11 years old... I was playing as Tails and in so doing you just watch him plummet through the sky while music plays and I thought the game was broken... :P

Effectively Immediately: I am taking a mental health break; all videos are on hold for one week; regular uploads will resume on Wednesday, August 12th. "More" Details Here: www.patreon.com/kasick/posts... (It's not a lot more details; nothing catastrophic has happened, just... TONS of stress.)

Mental Health Break - All Videos on Hold for One Week | Kris Asick

The past couple weeks of my personal life have been... not fun... to put it mildly. While nothing has gone catastrophically wrong (no one ha

Samurai Pizza Cats! Coming to Blu-ray from gorgeously remastered film & recreated titling. The Japanese version subbed will come later. You thought another company had it? Great timing for their convention banner that isn't for Blu-rays kept this one secret.

Who would've ever thought in a 3D/VR project with a layer of realism the hardest thing to make would be the freaking on-screen keyboard? >_>; Also, using @kenney.nl assets for the symbols on the side temporarily as I want to make my own but REALLY want to get this OSK freaking finished. :P

Screenshot from a game in development showing trees in the background, grey grid textures up close, and an on-screen keyboard with the message: "Just so we're clear here, this on-screen keyboard thing has been kicking my butt something fierce. Nevertheless, it's slowly but surely coming along. The buttons below work as intended, I can insert bold tags, or even a pink colour tag (then go back to white) easily... and I'm temporarily using Kenney symbols for the control map on the side; I want to make my own."

Just spent an hour troubleshooting a nonsensical problem I was running into in Godot Engine trying to connect signals to existing script functions and it failing to do so. Turns out this legit code: var my_array:Array[] = [ "just one string" ] ...breaks this functionality right now. :|

Quick Reminder: For anyone wondering why I almost never talk about or bring up the topic of bad people or the things they make, it's because: 1. I don't want to platform them in the slightest; Even negative takes could promote them. 2. A lot of my followers want a safe spot to not hear about them.

Heads up I had a really stressful time following my recording for NNRG last night and am behind on NNRG work because of that. Added Complication: Trying to make the high scores segment in the TG-16 format amidst all of that. Next NNRG WILL go up Wednesday, but much later than typical. :|

Going to bed shortly, but there's a pretty good chance it's going to thunderstorm almost all evening and all night long. If that happens I'm not going to be able to record for NNRG this week. I will keep everyone informed! :B

Eh heh... Turns out my automatic backups were running a little low on space because it was saving literally every crash dump ever produced. That was an easy 10 GB freed up! :P ...still feel like I should have more space left on my backup drive though... hrm...

Editing the next ADG Pro is FINALLY done! :D Rendering now, then I really should double-check and make sure I got all of the numbers right, and then I can upload it! If all goes to plan it should be online and ready to watch around 4 AM EDT, give or take an hour. :B

Heads up that the next ADG Pro video is taking me a lot longer to put together than anticipated because there is SO MUCH data to comb through. I'll probably be able to get it out on Saturday as intended, but it may be quite a few hours later than usual. :P

*reads a held comment in YouTube feed* *laughs* *removes it but does not ban/report the user* ...apparently, you can be absolutely right and supportive and STILL potentially ignite a flame war, all in two sentences; I don't tolerate users attacking other users in the comments of my videos. :P

Heads up that there's a potential for a LOT of thunderstorms over the next 18 hours in my area, so depending on how the weather behaves the next ADG-se might end up going up a few hours later than usual. :P

Reminder that most people who use GenAI are PROUD of using it. If someone's trying to sneak it past others and not disclose their use of it, find SOLID proof first; don't throw accusations at weak proof because sooner or later, a GenAI user WILL let something obviously made with GenAI slip past. :P

Waaaaaitaminute... So... before I do anything drastic to make my virtual keyboard work in Project AB, I've been looking through all of my options to try and keep the caret visible while not in focus. While I technically can't, I noticed TextEdits have an interesting command: "get_caret_draw_pos()"
