BRING THIS HERE BRING THIS TO AMERICA
Australia is planning some of the world's toughest AI regulations • Water usage will be limited • AI data centers will be required to become net producers of energy • AI companies can't train on Australian creators' work without their permission • Proposals expected to be introduced in 2027
Can we have less dysfunction in the industry?
One animator put it plainly: “You have no idea how frustrating it is to see press release after press release touting how much money our animated film made and how many nominations we got; then [the studio] turns to people who have worked here forever and says, ‘We don’t need you anymore.’” Heh.
witnessing the birth of a new all timer post is such a beautiful thing

"AI is inevitable!! It's here to stay!! Can't put the genie back in the bottle!! You can't stop progress!!! But uhhhh... if we had to legally obtain the resources needed to run our business AND unless we make trillions in profits AND unless you give up your drinking water, we're kinda toast 🥺"
“It would basically kill the AI industry overnight”: Nick Clegg thinks asking artists for use permission is a bad thing
Nick Clegg says a requirement to ask artists for express permission to use their work to train AI models would “basically kill the AI industry in this country overnight”.

I keep seeing people thinking this is a bluesky problem. If you're seeing this it thinks you're in a state or country with age verification laws. This is what every social media site will do if KOSA and the KIDS Act succeeds. Running to another socmed won't fix it, we have to fight the source.
Well i dont know how long this login session is gonna last but @bsky.app just asked me to do an age verification with personal information. If this happens again i will not attempt to log back in. If i dont post here again let bsky know that i prefer my privacy over this platform.
Left a review for the animal hospital that killed Pip. Im ready to finally move on now 🩷
Hey, fuck this!
A24 announces that they want to put storyboard artists out of work. That's what the headline should be written as. Becuase we should be honest about what these AI "tools" are trying to do, and who it is trying to circumvent. variety.com/2026/film/ne...
y'all ever have a family emergency so dire you gotta stress eat $50 in airport food
This might be one of the most insane scandals in game history When Pokemon Go players scan PokeStops, theyve been unknowingly building a detailed visual model of the world which is being sold to a military contractor to build a no-GPS positioning for the new generation of unmanned killing machines
just saw someone on the bus crack open a modelo using a bic lighter. life is beautiful
Somehow, using AI to generate assets of cars or pylons or what have you seems like the most embarrassing thing imaginable. Any toddler interested in cars or trains knows how to draw those, and you need AI to do it for you? I don’t love shaming people into change, but man, this deserves it.
