This is an important step for devolution in England, bringing power closer to people. But Andy Burnham’s plans shouldn’t stop at Offa’s Dyke. Wales needs more powers over rail, the Crown Estate and justice and policing so that our communities have the means to thrive.

The climate crisis means we’re seeing more and more wildfires burning across Wales. Plaid Cymru is taking action to ensure Wales is as prepared as possible to tackle the fires, as well as the climate crisis that causes them.

Expanding devolution should not stop at Offa’s Dyke. Wales deserves the powers to improve the services the people of Wales rely on.

The people of Wales elected a Plaid Cymru government in May to fight for the tools that will help our communities thrive. As the Prime Minister announces further devolution for England today, we remind him that his plans shouldn’t stop at Offa’s Dyke.

We can not have a sustainable NHS without a sustainable social care service. That’s why Plaid Cymru has already put in place measures to improve the delivery of care across Wales.
