I cannot understand anyone giving up research to AI it's the best bit! hunting down leads, hitting brick walls, changing tack, finding new viewpoint-altering facts and narratives, rinse and repeat if I could spend the rest of my working life gumshoeing through libraries I'd be happy as a clam

It is not the copy-editor's job to check every source, it's yours. Do the damn work
