Words for students: in this bullshit era of "A.i.," your degree means nothing. Going to Yale or Dartmouth or whatever means nothing. The only thing that matters is what you actually LEARN, what you actually DO, whether you actually do the WORK. Nothing you do with "A.i." will help you in any way.

A student in class today said that my art was good and I should consider making comics, and told me how I could do that. Earlier, a person in bathroom stall loudly watched multiple episodes of some influencer on the street nonsense. These events aren’t related, it’s just part of the fabric of today

Part of my job is teaching life drawing. I don’t always feel like the people in the room are keen to learn, but it’s at least problem solving and mindfulness when figuring out how to observe and capture what’s there. Here’s some traditional media examples.
