Whoopsies! "The emails became part of the city's records after the team's legal counsel, Zandria Conyers, forwarded the internal email chain to McGair, allowing KATU to obtain them through a public records request."

$10 billion buys: A) 10 miles of improvements to urban highways like I-5, with the benefits generally going to SOV commuters, or B) A downtown MAX tunnel and 50 miles of improvements to suburban/rural freight routes like I-205, US-30, and Cornelius Pass.

The next 90 days before Election Day will have the most bad faith arguments to malign leftist candidates you’ve ever seen from established power. Unfortunately for them, trust is earned and sustained over time. If you stay the course and act with integrity regardless of image it shines through.

Join me, sports economists @jcbradbury.com & @victor-matheson.bsky.social with co-host @councilormorillo.bsky.social on the economics of publicly funded stadiums. The term sheet is coming with limited information provided to us on the Moda Center renovations. Let’s discuss. zoom.us/webinar/regi...

Evil billionaire: I hate you and everything you stand for. Give me $900 million. City council: what will you spend it on? Can you tell us? The Oregonian: how toxic. You are “chumming the waters with billionaire sentiment”.

Among the positives: Top executives for the team showed up to the council's work session after having skipped recent public meetings about funding a renovation of the city-owned Moda Center for the Blazers. The city councilors who for months have been chumming the waters with anti-billionaire bombast kept their performances mostly professional and on point. And as District 4 Councilor Eric Zimmerman noted, there appeared to be a solid majority on the council committed to reaching a responsible deal that keeps the Blazers in Portland in exchange for the city's $120 million share of a $573 million state-and-local package.

Calling for “partnership” while directing almost every practical recommendation at one side of the table is not balanced analysis. It’s advocacy for a negotiating posture that asks the public to be more flexible while placing little pressure on the private party receiving $1.1B in public support.

Editorial: Stay on track, Portland, and show the Trail Blazers a partnership worth keeping

As the clock ticks toward a deadline for getting a Moda Center deal done, Portland city councilors should focus on what they control — finalizing a framework to negotiate a new long-term lease and sho...

The fact that this guy is shit-talking taxes while demanding taxpayer money for the renovation shows how bad faith this all is. I’m mostly disappointed in the Portlanders who have egged Dundon’s awful behavior on, especially the journalists.

I grew up Christian but my godfather is Jewish and he taught me that in Judaism rather than the focus being on going to heaven, it is our duty to create a heaven on Earth. For these Jewish elders, the politics of liberation for all people including Palestinians, is central to their work on Earth.

Why is their religion relevant? Do you specify people’s religion all the time when posting about them?

We're live from City Hall. Proceedings should begin shortly. Blazer contingent includes Dewayne Hankins, Charles Boyle, plus more. Reporters include OPB, Athletic, KGW, plus more. President Dunphy is ready to preside. Other councilors are entering, with Councilor Green in some sweet Blazer gear.

“Trump has rejected disaster aid for Democratic-run states at the highest rate in the 47-year history of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.” Right now people in blue states are basically paying federal taxes as if they’re colonized territories of red states. www.politico.com/news/2026/03...

I had the best conversation with socialist Jewish elders who have been fighting for workers rights & Palestine for decades. I told them how special it was to learn from them, they told me how special it was to watch a young person seize power for good, not just fight it. We got teary eyed together.
