People view AI as “unbiased” in the same way that people have less issue with statistical versus taste-based discrimination. As long as you can ground it in numbers by saying people with x characteristics are more likely to do y. And never ask about the training data.

I don't disagree and the way it is, is very sad: AI copies and then worsens existing issues in writing as with every other sphere it touches. AI boomeranging now causes us to suspect less creative (for example, due to being junior) writing as maybe being AI. And that's kind of what they want. 1/

My only-slightly-tinfoil-hat belief is that the proliferation of garbage clicker games for kids (think Roblox games where the only functionality is to use coins to repeatedly click for randomized rewards), loot boxes, mystery box toys, etc etc are feeding kids directly into the gambling woodchipper

Societies rightly spend a lot of money on regulating drug trials. Allowing large scale betting on these trial outcomes just creates incentives to distort findings. This should be immediately legislated out of existence.
