Today, VoidZero joins Cloudflare. Vite remains MIT, vendor-neutral, and stewarded by the same wider team. The same goes for Vitest, Rolldown, and Oxc. Cloudflare is also committing $1M to an OSS fund to support independent development in the Vite ecosystem.

this kind of thing (if true!) reveals that a project was in fact only masquerading as open source a shell without the heart that’s _fine_. products don’t have to be oss (eg i really like cal.com) but let’s be clear - it’s not a failure of oss; it’s a commercial/business trigger + pivot
