I accidentally created a 2nd Costco account when I thought I was paying a renewal. My old account kept on auto-renewing too. Luckily, they refunded the annual fee to the 2nd one since I never used it. They said this happens more often than you'd think. So always check those autopay membership fees.

Couldn't run a WinXP program on a M2 Mac Mini for retro-computing. So had to do some inception: Control Intel Macbook Pro from M2 Mac Mini. Run WinXP VM in Virtualbox on Intel Macbook Pro. Run Apple II disc image manager in WinXP. Access DOS 3.3 files using Apple II disc image manager. #graymuzzle

Yes, it's 2026, but you can still get COVID-19. Luckily, it's a mild case. I also know where I got it. I was sitting for like an hour in the Juneau airport gate area behind a guy who was coughing hard. I should've moved, but didn't. Fucking people don't consider masking up or isolating in public.

Having great trip in Alaska. But apparently, asking a local in Anchorage "Could you move over one seat?" At a bar is considered impolite. It sounded like a command to him. I aparently needed to add "please" to the end of it :( But the rest of the locals have been awesome.

Fnally got to see the glaciers upclose. Having done many travel adventures, glacier paddleboarding is def one of the best. After flying over the top of the glacier, you end up in this serene blue wonderland full of clear fresh water and ice. It's amazing.

After seeing glaciers from the air, we then saw Northwestern Glacier in Kenai Fjords NP from the water. Went kayaking among the icebergs and harbor seals and got up to 1/2 mile from the face (legal limit). Next will be helicoptering to the top of one!

Got to see Denali "up close" today. At ft tall, it easily dwarfs the 14ers out in Colorado. Also lucked out on weather as today is the first time in a month that the flight tours could go out because of heavy rain.

Having been a "man of leisure" officially for the past 6 months, I def experienced things that were expected but also dealt with some surprises. It def hasn't been "vacation" mode 24 hrs/day. But i now have in a daily routine & hope to travel some in the rest of 2026. It's been eye-opening.

Been seeing these social media memes about Europeans visiting the US for the World Cup not realizing ranch dressing existed and then loving it after trying it. To all the Euro furs, is ranch dressing not known or appreciated in your home country?
