No, hearing about the possibilities of a Cartoon Network x Nickelodeon crossover or whatever doesn't somehow magically balance out the absolute horror that is this corporate merger you fucking troglodyte.

Above all: YOU CAN DO WITHOUT You do not need to participate. You're not falling behind. It's manufactured FOMO to get you addicted to the products. Your brain will thank you, and you'll be doing a good thing for society, culture, the environment and most likely; your career.

Product: - AI products are extremely interchangeable; AI product selecting will be almost exclusively done by price point. Leads to a race to the bottom, or alternatively rely on (illegal) industry price fixing. - Local models also have many of the above problems, but are generally cheaper.

- Data centers are built where land is cheap and permits are easy to get, which are often areas vulnerable to exploitation, pollution and disruption of nature (ground water level, for example) - The last thing we need right now is an arms race to build power-hungry data centers

Environmental: - AI requires some of the most power-hungry chips, much more so than most other applications - The mining and production for hardware heavily pollutes, disproportionately affects the global south - High-end servers are not built to last more than a few years before they are scrapped

- AI coders report 'atrophy' of their own programming skills - A significant portion of code on the internet by now is AI generated. Given that most AI code sucks and makes common errors, AI models are likely to repeat these errors unless explicitly prompted not to ("model collapse")

- AI tools lead to less stable architecture/interfaces, which increases risk of instability/regressions/bugs - AI reduces the cost of low-impact tasks, increasing productivity metrics while lowering overall impact - AI coders are extremely replaceable, which I imagine will affect career prospects

Programming-specific: - AI products have destroyed the chain of mentorship in companies and open-source projects - AI tools externalize responsibility for code quality: "the model messed up" etc. - Automated code reviews devalue human understanding of the code

Political reasons: - Allocating scarce resources to benefit the few is unethical and unsustainable - AI infrastructure disproportionately hurts marginalized communities while benefiting the wealthy - AI companies concentrate information, wealth and power

Creativity/skill: - Effort is part of the process; it leads to better and more meaningful results - Individual experience and expression induces variance in outcome and moves culture and tech forward - Discovery and execution leads to a better understanding than reading a AI's solution ever could

Tech companies simply can't overcome these fundamental reasons NOT to use their AI products Ethics/society: - AI models are largely built on stolen labor - Cognitive health suffers with extended use of AI - AI destroys communities, careers and crafts that drive our culture and society for profit

I just love looking at Ed Benedict's early designs for Hanna-Barbera characters. He embraced the UPA style and understood how to make these designs work within limited animation. He was one of the artists who gave the studio its identity in the early years.

Warner Bros. veteran David Decker will continue to serve as president of content sales at Skydance. His division oversees the licensing of WBD's animation library to Tubi and MeTV Toons, and includes the WB Home Entertainment and Warner Archive businesses. www.thewrap.com/industry-new...

Jay Askinasi to Lead Skydance's Ad Sales, David Decker to Oversee Content Sales

Askinasi will oversee ad sales, while Decker will lead content sales and Hopkins will be in charge of distribution

On 9/25/26, Oneyplays ex-girlfriend revealed that she was sexually assaulted by Oneyplays. The post is now gone, but thankfully, someone had saved it on the wayback machine. Let's not be silent about this.

This is my experience with Chris O’Neill. I have been silent for far too long. Please click the link below for my full statement. https://docs.google.com/document/d/15VsmMZS8umxDZ7YYT5-Bprjbw_gKFnqUD...

don't worry, there's only like 50 years of hard data, much of which involves this very company, showing that these megadeals are pointlessly disastrous for labor, consumers, markets, and product quality

"TD Cowen analyst Doug Creutz wrote in a note Wednesday that investors should hold their shares of Skydance as the firm remained “quite cautious on the ability of the company and its management to avoid integration and execution problems that have bedeviled other major media mergers.”

“The risks (leverage, integration) of the combination with WBD are high; we remain skeptical that SKYD management will be able to create value from this deal when so many other major media deals have failed,” the note read."

If you're wondering what I meant last night, it's this. I'm sorry, I absolutely HATE it when people disregard the safety of millions of people who are being laid off due to the merger and choose to participate in this unfunny trend that I genuinely dislike. Please reconsider your choices.

I wanted to actively yell out some people who are posting cartoon characters being upset over the WB + Paramount merger and then I realized yelling them out only makes it worse and the trend being peer pressure is NOT worth it. Goodnight.
