"I really don’t understand why somebody would want to make me say things that I don’t want to say as they please and then sell it as my own voice. It’s heartbreaking. Why can’t Japan, which calls itself a content superpower, establish rules for content use or tell the world,..."

The voice of Shinji in Evangelion says AI voice cloning is 'heartbreaking,' calls for Japanese government to intervene

It would be nice if somebody did something, for once.

Hello! For a potential piece on Eurogamer, I would love to know what cool little things people in and around games are working on. Not full games, but fun, interesting, weird projects or side projects. Things you're noodling around with, things you just think are neat. Replies/reposts very welcome!

What if I told you that all of the Publishing Agreements I have reviewed in the last 6 months (several dozen) included a no gen AI provision, wherein the use of gen AI in development is a material breach, but companies like Epic and EA are still trying to convince us the industry is cool with it

He's only gone and written 2,500 more words about how game devs feel about generative AI. Latest piece quotes around two dozen different people with an indie background. When asked how they feel about gen AI, not one, but two devs responded, "Fuck that shit." www.gamesradar.com/games/it-cre...

Let's say I produced a really slick video in which I teach some bit of game design: - If you're an experienced game designer, what should it teach less experienced designers? - If you're an inexperienced game designer, what would you like to learn?

So who do I ask for the money to convert thirteen years of teaching gamedev and art into a massive free online course complete with tracks, templates, examples, excersises and community?

me: there's only a couple things left to do before the one-shot I'm running tomorrow, it's a significant amount of work, but not unmanageable. me: BUT WHAT IF NEW IDEA?

- that devs make money based on amount of sales - that devs decide which game to make / decide about content - that devs aren't gamers / don't like games - that publishers are devs - that game dev is just fun so we don't need good wages and rights and stuff

game devs: what are the myths that a lot of players of games think are true about making games that are completely untrue? If you could snap your fingers and they suddenly all knew the truth about it what would it be?
