Gerda Taro, geboren als Gerta Pohorylle am 1. August 1910 in Stuttgart, musste - als Jüdin und Sozialistin verfolgt - 1933 nach Frankreich fliehen. Nach dem Militärputsch 1936 ging sie nach Spanien und fotografierte mit Robert Capa den Spanischen Bürgerkrieg. 🧵

"A Reuters analysis found the image [...] contained an artificial intelligence watermark that signals it was made with OpenAI tools." – What does it take to verify such watermark? W/Should @theguardian.com not be able to confirm? These marks are supposed to be transparent.

What if a PDS became more than a repository for posts? We propose using AT Protocol as a creator-controlled publication layer for declaration metadata describing digital works, making rights, provenance, and other trusted metadata independently verifiable and easier to discover.

Whereas AT Protocol is decentralized in practice because your data is stored on your PDS, and you can always move your data, even without the PDS's cooperation, because the data is all signed by an identity that the PDS does not control or at least, can have alternative control.
